Alarm Pre-Workout is yet another workout enhanced developed by Image Sports and GNC. Using a blend of amino acids and other natural ingredients, Alarm is said to be the perfect option for seasoned bodybuilders who want some extra support to bulk up.

When used properly, Alarm is said to be highly bio-available and fast acting, helping you to wake up and get to work.

In the past, however, Image Sports products have been mediocre and over-priced. Let’s see if Alarm with follow the rule or be a breakout product for the brand.

Under the Hood

Caffeine isn’t the only ingredient that Alarm Pre-Training uses. It has several muscle building and performance enhancing ingredients that are combined into a proprietary blend. These blends make it impossible for us to see what the individual dose of each ingredient is.

Caffeine is the one ingredient that has its amount disclosed. While Alarm uses a proprietary blend, we do know that it contains about 300mg of caffeine per serving. Caffeine has been shown to increase energy and awareness by running through the bloodstream and increasing internal heat. It also triggers the production of dopamine and norepinephrine, which can stimulate energy creation and the loss of water weight.

Creatine is a chemical in the body that is found mostly in muscles and has been proven to increase strength and produce energy in the form of ATP. Creatine can influence muscle growth and workout performance, and is more than two to three times as effective as a high protein diet. It works without side effects.

Beta Alanine is a non-essential amino acid frequently used for improving athletic performance and enhancing exercise capacity. It works by building lean muscle mass and improving physical mobility well into old age. It can also relieve lactic acid buildup, which is what causes muscle pain and fatigue. Beta Alanine helps reduce lactic acid building up and allows you to workout longer without having to quit.

Arginine helps produce nitric oxide, which enhances vein size and helps more nutrients flow to your muscle tissue. Arginine is one of the best muscle-building ingredients because it allow more blood, nutrients, and oxygen to reach the areas you need it most. As muscle building occurs, the benefits of arginine begin to appear.

L-Citrulline helps replenish protein and build muscle as the body breaks down protein. This is important because protein is vital in every stage of the muscle-building process. It is also effective in preventing Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive conditions. It relieves high blood pressure and lowers blood glucose levels, which is beneficial to anyone suffering from type two diabetes.

Guarana is a stimulant that increases energy and improves alertness. The side effects of Guarana are similar to those of caffeine, as it contains up to three times the amount of caffeine as a coffee bean. It rushes through the system and suppresses appetite, burns fat, and increases energy, which can be used later at the gym.

How to Use Alarm Pre-Training

Image Sports recommends that you take one scoop of Alarm 15 to 30 minutes before training along with six to eight ounces of cold water.

However, customers have said that the taste is unpleasant and works better with flavored beverages like orange juice. Others say that only half a scoop is needed to feel results, so you may want to start smaller before working up to the full dosage.

What We Like

• Stimulants work to increase energy and intensify a workout. There is a good dose of them in Alarm Pre-Training. This supplement is bound to give you extreme energy and boost performance.

• We also like the inclusion of creatine, Arginine, and Beta Alanine. You can find these ingredients just about everywhere because they are safe and productive.

What We Dislike

• Although caffeine is generally a safe and effective stimulant, it can lead to side effects when taken at high doses. Alarm Pre-Training contains as much caffeine as you would find in 3 cups of coffee, which is pushing the limits of the recommended daily limit and can cause jitters, nervousness, anxiety, headache, and nausea.

• Since Alarm Pre-Training uses proprietary blends, we cannot see if effective doses of every ingredient were used. If they have not been used, this product won’t be as effective.

What We Suggest

You may need to sound an alarm after taking Alarm Pre-Training. It contains enough stimulants to send anyone through a loop.

The good news is that energy can be good during a workout. The bad news is that it may come back to bite you in the end.

The high caffeine content and possible side effects are the biggest concern we have with Alarm Pre-Training. If you are not sensitive to caffeine, however, taking this pre-workout supplement should not be a problem for you.

The price for a container of Alarm Pre-Training ranges from $45.99 to $69.99. Each container holds 28 scoops of powder and you are supposed to take one 15-30 minutes before training. You may be able to find some retailers who offer a money back guarantee to sweeten the deal.

Alarm Pre-Training is a good pre-workout supplement, as long as you can handle the stimulants. However, we have seen better. You can find products that disclose complete ingredient information and are more affordable among the top-rated pre-workout supplements.

Great stuff..but I learned the hard way to not over do it and I drank it just a smidge to late from zumba class but I’m wired and could run for hours…just don’t chug and make sure to have something on your stomach..or you’ll feel sick.
