Most people know that some of the most popular supplements in the weight loss and body building industry come from the company BSN. They’ve released some very effective pre workout supplements including one of the premier workout supplements NO Xplode. Well, the latest BSN product is a weight loss pill and a fat burner called Atro-Phex, and more and more people are wondering whether or not this latest addition to the BSN catalog is effective enough to help them actually lose weight.
Clearly BSN was looking to move product when they developed Atro-Phex’ packaging. It comes in a fancy red box and the capsules are all in pop-out blister packs. The effort on the packaging is clearly there, but is that same effort put into the actual weight loss pill?
A single serving of Atro-Phex is a proprietary blend of 724 mg and it contains a Adipose Atrophy and energy stimulator matrix, mood and mental performance optimizers, an aqua-retic matrix, insulin support and weight management formula and a pro thyroid stimulator. With all those different blends you know things are going to get a bit dicey when it comes to whether or not Atro-Phex actually contains enough of any ingredient to help you lose weight. And with the proprietary blend, you actually have no way of telling if it does contain enough to be effective or if the key ingredients are just, as they say, label dressing to make a sale.
There have been some good reviews when it comes to this product, but many of those reviews have come with complete changes in diet and exercise routines. In those cases it is difficult to determine whether or not Atro-Phex is doing what BSN claims it can do. We are skeptical to say the least. While some BSN products have done the job they claim to do, we wonder if this is one of their better supplements. When we look for effective weight loss ingredients, we often look for supplements focused and potent, which is why we wouldn’t recommend Atro-Phex. I’ve been taking this for 5 days and lost 5 pounds. I haven’t changed my diet. I have been more active because it gives me so much energy. I find that it also makes me feel happier. I really love that I am losing weight this fast, but I am planning to get off of it. It is making my blood pressure really high and my heart beat really fast. This can’t be good for me at all. I am glad for the people who are able to take this pill and lose weight without any bad side effects.
Its mainly helpful for the body builders…

I’m currently on my 3rd week of Atro-Phex. I’m 5′6″, weigh 183 lbs. and have lost 8 lbs so far. I drink on average 1 gallon of water a day, there fore I don’t feel any side effects. Overall I’m not sure if Atro-Phex is doing much for me. I do cardio 5 days a week for lunch at 30 mins. I lift 5 days a week after work for 30min. I’ve changed my diet up to where I eat oatmeal and protein shake for breakfast, chicken breast rice and veggies for lunch and chicken breast and veggies for dinner and no alcohol drinking at all. I don’t know if it was the drastic change in my diet or the Atro-phex or both, but I have lost weight and I notice the change in my slacks that I wear to work. As far as curbing my appetite…I’m starving every 30-45 minutes. I do snack on beef jerky and oranges in between meals, but since starting my diet 3 weeks ago i’m always hungry. I’ve also yet to feel like I’m in a better mood, I do burp a raspberry taste a lot and generally after 3pm I’m tired. I’d like to give 100% thanks to Atro-phex, but I’m not sure if it did much for me. I’d say once I reach my desired weight level and can’t lose anymore, I’d like to get on Atro-Phex again and see if it can help me out at that point. I’d recommend saving your money first and start eating better and making those changes stay in effect on weekends. -RICH Z -3/2/10

Just started taking them Monday and I can feel the difference already. My workouts are better, it gives me the energy I need to do more reps. You must eat with these pills if not you are not going to feel good. It cleans me through out the day. It kills my cravens for junk food which makes for better choices for food. You must drink plenty of water it helps flushes out toxic wastes and push the supplement through the body. I started with one pill a serving the first day and the next day with two per serving I will not go over that. So far so good. I’ve rated this pill/supplement a 4, I am waiting for more data on my experience.

I have been using Atro-Phex a little over a week and have noticed expected results. I take 2 pills right before and, I do a full lifting workout and drink about 3 big size water bottles. Immediately after i do cardo on 3 different machines for 15-20 mins each. I have cut a lot in just the short amount of time and still kept my gains. No side affects as long as im hydrated. As for the nightmares and sleep deprivation other users report its only 1 of 2 things. Theyre taking the pills to close to going to sleep AND/OR they arent drinking enough water. It would basically be comparable to taking NO explode 20 mins before shut eye. Best i have used so far. I have taken lypo-6 it was ok but nothing to waste money on. Only downside i can think of is they decided to only put 7 pills per packet and then place a huge logo instead of adding 1 extra pill since the max dose is 4 pills twice daily= 8 Pills. Good product, I recommend it.

I’m done with the first box of 60 Atro-Phex,I took 4-6 pills a day.Did not help me lose weight.I exercise regularly 3-4 times a week.The only thing what I felt from Atro-Phex was an awful teeth grinding and clinging overnight…..and most of the day-even when I just took the pills at the morning or the first half of my day.I do not think that pill would have any benefits for wight lose…or at least not for me.I would not buy Atro-Phex again and I would not recommend to any of my friends.

This was one of the best products I have ever taken. I saw immediate results and in 2 weeks I have lost 13 pounds and an inch of my waist. I feel a lot more energized during workouts. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone who wants to lose weight and build muscle.

While reading reviews about this product, I’m willing to try it. I’m in school to become a CPT, I do know that with any type of dietary supplement, you must drink plenty of water, also when taking supplements to assist in weight lost or any bloaters like NO2, you do not take it every single day for the amount of pills that are in the package. You must allow the body to rest, 2wks on and 2 wks off. I have read that some ppl have nausea from the pill, but also a lot of headaches, which could mean that it is making you more dehydrated than you think. Dehydration can come from the pill, but it can also come from what you may be eating, always check the sodium cintent on the labels of what you are eating. sodas are a NO-NO, especially caramel colored sodas (Pepsi). I do understand that everything is not for everyone, but these are just a few things that may not have been pointed out to you to help you get the results you were looking for to those who were disappointed. So when I try it in a few days, I will posted how it has either hindered me or helped me. Happy Holiays to everyone.

Worked with side effects

I’m a female and been using this product since August. Atrophex made me loose weight. Some advice is that you have to make sure you eat something 30minutes after you pop a pill or you will feel extra nauseous. Also drink plenty of water-i”ll suggest a gallon, if you not, be ready to have agitated nights and plenty of brutal and violent nightmares. Other than that, the product is great and really works. Even without working out a lot, I lost weight

This product was horrible. I had been taking Ripped Fuel (which was amazing) for about 2 months before, then switched over to Atro-phex. I started one pill a day to build up my tolerance level, 2 weeks later I tried 2 pills a day, and when I took the Second pill in the evening, it induced an anxiety attack and I had to go to the hospital. Be very careful with this product, make sure you are drinking alot of water, and if you notice any signs of emotional or agitation stop using immediatly.

First Day Trial

I am a 5′7 121lb female. I took one tablet before my first meal (7:30am) I trained at 11:30am and lifted twice my normal max weight! I felt full of energy, excellent mood. Slightly jittery at around 10am but soon subsided. Its now 5pm, effects have worn off and feel a little tired but think thats more down to having a hardcore workout last night and this morning. So far I love it, have a few more samples so going to try it over the next few days. Dont be afraid to try this product, I was really nervous about it but its fine. I also normally have a low tolerance for caffiene and have been perfectly fine! Will report back in a few days.

I just purchased this product the other day. I read what seems like a million reviews and it seems like the biggest problem is people not drinking enough water when taking this pill. They say with exercise, and taking this pill you should drink up to if not more than 1 gallon of water per day. You have to make sure you are hydrated. I took a pill last night(at 6:30pm and was able to fall asleep at midnight without any problems) and i took one this morning before my protein shake, I also took Animal Pak. I have felt great today no headaches, and i feel ready and focused. I have taken other stimulants that did give me a headache within minutes of taking them. I will post my results later. I work out 3 times a week with weights and i plan on running 2-3 times a week. I am drinking 1 gallon of water a day 2 protein shakes a day, and animal pak. I normally drink about 2 cans of diet pepsi (with splenda) a day so i normally get some caffine in my system. So far so good with this product.

I’ve been using N.O. Xplode for a while now and I love it! I recently stacked with Sytha6 which is also working out well. I wanted to try Atro Phex because I feel it will give me that kick that I’m lacking. I spoke to a BSN specialist and they told me I could stack it with N.O. but to give at lease 5 hours or so between taking the two since they fall under the same category. So, during the week I take 2 Atro in the AM, two in the afternoon, and then I take N.O. in the evening before my workout. There’s at least a 5 hour gap in between so BSN says I’m safe. No headaches yet… We’ll see…

This Product is great. yesterday was my first day on Atro, i took 1 at 4 o’clock and i had energy until 11 o’clock.I had no side effects but u know everyone is different so don’t listen to the people that say it doesn’t work they are either lazy or lying just try it out for yourself. And make sure u drank a least 120 ounces of water i drank 60 before and after and maybe a little more just to be safe.

I recieved a free sample of atro-phex with syntha-6. i was wondering what days i should take this product. i work out 3 days a week, mon. wed. fri. for 2 hours.along with cardio. I drink syntha-6 on work out days and on off days. on work out days 1 scoop with water with morning snack and 2 scoop with water after workouts. For pre work i drink NO xplode and love it. on rest days i drink 2 scoops for morning snack. 1 scoop mid day . and 2 scoops late day. i need to know when i can fit atro-phex in and what i should stack it with. i already know you should drink 120 oz. of water when taking the product im just unaware of when i should be taking A/P and what to stack it with… any tips? THANKS!!

i was a 6,2 255 pound lineman ill admit i was kinda slow …..well 2 boxes of this stuff later i have dropped 40 pounds got me a nice little set of abs and i can run the 40yd dash in 9 secs and that was on 2 pills twice daily all in all bsn has deliverd to me again i have never been let down by them

all i have to say is that this product works if you combine it with exercise and use it according to the guidelines. obviously you shouldn’t take 8 pills a day if you’re just starting out and wanting to lose weight. this pill is a diuretic and you need to drink a ton of water when you take it. although it makes me sweat a lot when i do cardio, it gives pump when i’m lifting weights, and i have been taking it for maybe 3 days. i have already dropped 3 lbs and am on a regular workout schedule. i have a diet that consists of the kinds of things that are posted on menshealth.com and frankly if you claim this product doesn’t work for you then you are probably sitting around and not using it the way it should be used.

I have used this product regularly for quite some time now. I have never had any side effects like I did with other products. Other fat burners always made me jittery and I hate that feeling. We are preparing to move back to the US and I ran out.. and haven’t placed any more orders since we leave soon. I am struggling with keeping my weight where it was now that I’m out of atro phex. It always made me feel good and kept me from retaining water. The dosage is different for everyone. For me, all I had to take was one capsule in the morning and that was enough. I felt great and kept the weight off. I think if people are having headaches and such, it’s probably due to not drinking enough water or maybe they are taking too many pills. I workout just about everyday and drink a lot of water and eat clean most of the time. Never had a problem.

Not a Bad Product But...

I have tried other products in the past when I wanted to cut weight. The past couple of years I got lazy and didn’t do the right thing and gained a lot of weight. So I decided to try A/P to kick start my metabolism again. When I first started taking it I felt great. I had super focus, tons of energy, and my appetite was controlled. I got up to 3 pills twice daily. Here are some of the side effects I had : upset stomach, when i’d burp I would have a sour taste and the big one for me was my heart rate when I did cardio. I was low to mid range cardio. When i’d start to jog after a few minutes my heart would start to race and i’d have to slow down. I was afraid if I didn’t stop jogging there could be some serious reprocussions. I suggest taking lower doses and when you are about to come off your cycle to cut back on what you take otherwise the headaches are killer. I not sure if I am going to try this product again. If I do I am going to monitor myself very closely.

I believe BSN products such as Atro-Phex have truly lived up to their reputation and even further. I’ve been taking Atro-Phex for 15 days. Let me tell you that Atro-Phex does exactly what it was made for, focus and well being, physical energy, mental energy, and weight management. I am living proof that it does. Many say that they get headaches, nasea, sleeplessness, dehydration, trembelness, tunnel-vision, anxious, spacey and so on. Like I said I am living proof, the above named is true when you don’t excercise(A LOT), eat right, and don’t drink enough water(ATLEAST 120oz). I also highly recommend you read the entire label as for serious side effects can occur. Like for example: If it’s your first time you don’t want to start off with 2 capsules(4 a day), it WILL be too much for you. Atro-phex clearly state that you should ASSESS your tolerance. I started by taking 2(4 a day) not with water but with N.O.Explode mixed with water. DONT DO WHAT I DID. I felt like garbage the rest of the day, I was nervous,anxious,enraged with endless energy, nasaus, hot, thirsty, and lastly horny. All at the same time. Please I beg you to start with 1 pill(2 a day) with water. If you get a burst of energy, then you should use it to your advantage and excercise(Lifting Weights) till you exceed your limits, you’ll feel awesome afterwards. Don’t forget 120oz of water and take your last dose 6+ hours before bedtime.(It will keep you up,it’s like 10x the potency of coffee). Anyways, keep taking the same dose until one day you feel like its not giving you a strong enough kick to push to and through the last rep of the last excercise, you muscles should really be burned out by the time your done, although you should till have tons of energy left. Sore and hurt but awake and alert should let you know that you used Atro-Phex to it’s fullest. Anyways I’m writing this tonight at 2+ hours past my bedtime. Yes today I made the same mistake and took it with N.O.Explode at like 9pm. I went swimming for like an hour(doing laps) hit the weights hard and other X rated things that shouldn’t be mentioned and well now I’m still here with 100% energy. Anyways my main point is that you should take caution when using this product and be ready and be aware of what is and/or could be in store for you. I gave this product 5 Stars because it give’s you tons and endless amounts of energy more than good enough to keep you lifting, running, swimming or what ever extreme excercise you do. I dont recommend you take this and do pilates or yoga(those things can be done using your own natural energy). Anywayz, make sure your READY FOR THE CHALLENGE and have fun.

This product works. You have to cycle off for at least 4 weeks or the side effects become worse. Most importantly this product helped me quit smoking! SO if you want to get into an exercise routine and quit smoking. try it. Everyone is different so dont be discouraged if you dont immediately start shedding pounds. Be patient

I have tried all types of weight burning supplements. Hydroxycut, Rip Fuel, Lipo Six, Hot rocks, etc.. I think BSN is great, I love their products 5 Star.. But i have to say that Atro-phex is Horrible.. The side effects out weigh any benefit. Headache, Headache, Headache.. Constantly.. Nightmares and violent sleep. My girlfriend and me have been together for months and we never argue.. until I tried this product. it was a bad night and I was sleepiing horribly.. Wait for more research on this product. I believe BSN may have jumped the gun.. But, BSN is great and I have never been let down before.. If you made your mind up already and you still want to try it. FOlloW All directions and drink plenty water…

I just spent my money on this product and am so scared to try it due to the reviews. I am planning on getting pregnant in August or September and thought to buy it to work out hard for a couple months in order to get strong and healthy for my pregnancy but now I’m worried it won’t clear my system in time to concieve. I’ll make this simple: I regularly take A/P twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon My other supps are Syntha-6/MM and EFA’s from animal. and assorted multiviatmins. My workout routine consists of 2 hours of cardio and 1 hour of weight lifting. 5-6 days a week. Good Stuff about atrophex (A/P) gives you energy and it does elevate your mood. If anything I feel good when taking it. It does supress appetite. Berry flavored burps. It may have helped me loose over 30 lbs. But I credit diet and excercize more than A/P Bad- Do not combine this with hydroxycut, you will loose so much water that you will cramp up. I suspect that A/P has seriously affected my lung capacity, I had a medical test (blow as hard as you can 3 times measured by a computer). Every year for the last few years I’ve had better lung capacity than my age group. I’m guessing if anything A/P is causing this. And no I did not have a cold that day or any congestion whatsoever. BSN has not responded to my questions about A/P’s side effects on lung capacity. So until then I feel obligated to warn people about this possible side effect. In short, it works, but may have some side effects and BSN hasn’t responded to my questions about it and its been a few weeks since they said they would call back.

Disappointing

I tried Atro-Phex for about 6 weeks while working out 6 days a week, weights only. Its true that it curbed my appetite but only because it made me so nauseous all the time that I couldn’t eat properly. I also didn’t get the diuretic effect at all or lose any fat. Most surprisingly it made me really sleepy in the afternoon even after taking 2 caps before lunch. I just switched to Lipo 6 and the results are way better.. though I still use BSN products for everything else.

I have always been a person that said I would never use a supplement to help me manage my weight. That is until I discovered having a real job and all the other things that came with the real world. I have been using a/p for 2 weeks now and it really has delivered a boost of energy and helped with my focus. I take 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon and still have a ton of energy to work out in the evening. I hated do cardio before and since I statred I can get on an eliptical for an hour at my top speed and be finished and want to go run 4 miles. It is a great feeling. I also have a job where I need my full attention, which isnt always easy for me to keep and this has helped me. You have to make sure you drink a lot of water because you will cramp and get headaches. It has helped with appetite, I’m not eating as much junk. I would recommend this to a friend as long as they promise they will drink a lot of water.
