Optimum Nutrition’s newest addition to the Creatine market promises to be both the most direct way to supply your muscles with intense energy; helping you workout harder and longer. But with so many Creatine powders competing for your business, it can feel almost impossible to find out which ones are the most worth your money and which ones are going to leave you high and dry.

And believe it or not, even the most “pure” Creatine products can offer very different results than their competitors. So we decided to do some serious research into Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder to see how it measures up against the best Creatine Supplements.

What Does Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder Do?

Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder is a creatine supplement that boasts a full 5 grams (5000 mg) of 99.9 percent pure CreaPure brand Creatine Monohydrate in every serving. Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder is a cut above the rest and offers you all the benefits of other creatine products with none of the hassle.

This product is tasteless and odorless so you can avoid the gritty taste and texture you may have experienced with other creatine supplements. This product boasts that it contains no fullers or additives.

Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder “supports strength and power.” Optimum Nutrition Creatine strikes us a straightforward creatine option that doesn’t try to sell you with lots of “added” (and often ficticious) bonuses.

Potential Side Effects

As with any Creatine product, Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder comes with some associated risks, especially if you plan on taking this Creatine supplement for an extended period of time, or taking more than the dosage suggests.

Too much Creatine in your system can cause a buildup of formaldehyde in your body and can eventually cause renal system failure. So if you are interested in a more long-term option, Optimum Nutrition offers a few other options if you aren’t too keen on the Creatine powder supplement.

But if you still want Creatine, just not in the powder form, they also have an Optimum Nutrition Creatine Capsule line which comes in either 2500 mg capsules or 750 mg capsules. Each option has the same ingredient, Creatine Monohydrate, only it is available in an easy to swallow capsule.

The capsules do cost a little more than the powder, but for many people, the convenience is worth the extra price. Overall, the Optimum Nutrition Creatine line isn’t amazingly innovative but it does deliver on what it promises; increased power and strength with pure Creatine.

Is Optimum Nutrition’s Creatine Powder Worth the Price?

As far as a creatine supplement goes Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder is as pure as they come. This product is completely and totally composed of Creatine Monohydrate.

However, this product does not offer any additional results such as even further increased energy for your workouts which some products achieve by adding caffeine or stimulants to their products. With Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder what you see is what you get and that is not a bad thing.

If you are looking for a strictly creatine-based supplement to add oomph to your lifting sessions than this product seems to be right up your alley.

Optimum Creatine Powder is effective

Hi, I’ve been gtaking Optimum Creatine Powder on and off since 1998 and it works. Actually, I remember the first week or so I took it– I used to go to the gym around 6 am in the morning by then– and I was feeling like a train engine, jumping off the walls. I was impressed with my strength gains since day one. This allowed me to train harder. I use it on and off as all my other supplements, just to prevent accumulation and protect my kidneys. I can feel the increase in strength this creatine gives me during my workouts. Thanks, Richard
