According to Slimful.com, the secret to losing weight is eating less food. This is easier said than done when hunger kicks in. And that’s where Slimful comes in.
Slimful is a 90-calorie bar that supposedly “satisfies hunger for hours.” Unlike diet bars, which are all “just a snack option,” Slimful is a weight loss tool. It claims to crack down on over serving, over eating, second helpings, between meal snacks, desserts, and late night snacks.
Hopefully, my research answers your questions about Slimful, so you can decide if it’s worth your time and money.
How Is Slimful Supposed to Work?
The first 3 ingredients on Slimful’s label are sugar, corn syrup, and maltodextrin. I was not impressed.
These ingredients get converted into glucose and make blood glucose levels spike. This causes the body to store more glucose as fat, which depletes blood glucose levels, causing sugar cravings to increase.
Fourth ingredient on the list is soy protein isolate. It’s put through a rigorous filtering process, which strips impurities, fat, and carbohydrates from the soybeans. Unfortunately, the process also removes many nutrients. The final product is highly-concentrated soy protein isolate. In large dosages (e.g. 15-20 g), protein reduces hunger and increases satiety.
Konjac flour is another key ingredient. It’s packed with fiber, which expands in the stomach and digestive tract. The result is decreased hunger, better digestion, and reduced cholesterol.
In a clinical study, participants lost 5.5 lbs. in 8 weeks by consuming 1 g konjac every day. Konjac can improve bowel movement regularity and treat constipation as well.
The remaining ingredients are for flavoring, coloring, consistency, and preservation.
Slimful has some soy, but no gluten.
What Are the Different Flavors?
Slimful comes in 4 flavors, which from the names sound very tasty:
• Very Berry
• Honey Bliss
• Cocoa Brownie
• Orange Tangerine
Very Berry, Honey Bliss, and Orange Tangerine are dairy-free, but Cocoa Brownie is not.
The Supplements Facts
Each bar is a serving. Eat the bar and then drink a large glass of water. Drinking water is essential because it causes the fiber to expand and that’s how Slimful fills you up.
Limit your consumption to no more than 3 bars a day, at least 4 hours apart. Most users just eat 1 bar a day. Do not rely solely on Slimful for daily nutrition. It’s also important to eat a healthy, balanced diet.
As you can see, these numbers vary slightly, depending on the flavor you choose:
• Calories: 90
• Total fat: 1-1.5 g
• Cholesterol: 0 mg
• Sodium: 20-90 mg
• Total carbs: 21 g
• Dietary fiber: 2-5 g
• Sugars: 12 g
• Protein: 1 g

Do Consumers Like Slimful?
Amazon.com has 3 consumer reviews and Drugstore.com has 5. There are no other reviews online; not even on the official website.
On Amazon.com, the average rating was 4.3 out of 5 stars. On Drugstore.com, it was 3 out of 5 stars.
Only 2 of the users who rated Slimful on Amazon.com actually tried it. They said it curbs hunger and reduces how much food they eat throughout the day. The third non-user wrote about how Slimful only has 2 grams fiber, which he doesn’t think is enough to suppress appetite. But for some reason, he still gave 4 out of 5 stars.
One review on Drugstore.com said Slimful reduced hunger, but the texture was weird. Another said the product doesn’t lessen appetite and called it a “glorified candy bar.” Two users liked Slimful and said it satisfies cravings. The fifth user got a horrible stomachache every time she ate a bar.
Most users thought Slimful was too expensive.
The Final Say on Slimful
Slimful doesn’t have as much fiber as other diet bars such as Atkins and Fiber One. It has about 1/3 the amount of protein found in a single egg. With such small fiber and protein dosages, I don’t see how Slimful is as powerful as the company claims. It may curb cravings, but I doubt it dramatically promotes weight loss.
Slimful is low in calories, but high in cheap sugar. It also has many artificial ingredients for flavoring, preservation, and coloring.
Each bar is about $1.75, which doesn’t seem too expensive. But if Slimful causes horrible stomachaches or doesn’t curb cravings, even $1.75 is too much to pay. I recommend buying a higher-quality diet bar or a top-rated, appetite-suppressing weight loss supplement.
