High-Quality Protein
Overall, the ingredient profile is good, which is the most important thing for most people. However, as far as flavor goes, it’s quite boring and generic. However, if you don’t mind the traditional chocolate and vanilla flavor, you most likely won’t mind Cytosport Monster Isolate.
If you are looking for a good, high-quality protein powder that is low in carbohydrates and calories, Cytosport Monster Isolate is definitely worth looking into.

Cytosport Monster Isolate is a whey isolate supplement designed to optimize muscle growth and recovery after intense workouts.
Here’s a closer look at everything there is to know about Monster Isolate so you can decide for yourself whether it is worth checking out.
The Ingredient Profile
Cytosport Monster Isolate’s formula is simple, which is nice. Each serving provides 25 g whey protein isolate.
Whey isolate, unlike whey concentrate, is whey that has been filtered to remove lactose and cholesterol. Consequently, it tends to be more expensive and regarded as a higher-quality protein powder. It is 90% protein by weight, [1] and it is supplemented with to improve muscle soreness and recovery after working out.
Research shows that supplementing with whey protein post-exercise was able to improve muscle protein synthesis, [2] which essentially means better muscle growth.
Additionally, each serving includes 3 g carbohydrate and 130 calories. Overall, this isn’t bad, and is especially of interest for those that are trying to pack on lean mass and mediate weight gain.
So far, Cytosport Monster Isolate’s ingredient profile is a force to reckon with.
Flavor and Availability
Cytosport Monster Isolate’s flavor options are limited. It comes in a chocolate and vanilla flavor. These two flavors are among the most popular flavors when it comes to protein powders. However, some companies have started to add twists to these traditional flavors, but that’s not the case for Cytosport.
Cytosport Monster Isolate comes in 2 sizes: a 2.2 lb. bottle and a 4.4 lb. The smaller size provides 30 servings and the bigger size provides about 60 servings.
Here are the best prices I could find for the 4.4 lb bottle:

Taste and Mixability
I tested out the vanilla flavor for a couple days. I typically drink a protein shake during lunch, at least one shake a day. So, I did the same with Cytosport Monster Isolate.
I mixed a scoop with 8 ounces of water in my shaker bottle. It all mixed fairly well -there was minimal clumping.
The flavor wasn’t anything special. It tasted like various other vanilla-flavored protein powders I’ve tried.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the ingredient profile is good, which is the most important thing for most people. However, as far as flavor goes, it’s quite boring and generic. However, if you don’t mind the traditional chocolate and vanilla flavor, you most likely won’t mind Cytosport Monster Isolate.
