Overall, FitStrong PRE is a good pre-workout supplement. The ingredients are effective; the banana strawberry flavor is a nice changeup to the traditional fruit punch and blue raspberry flavors that a lot of supplement companies are coming out with. However, the price is the big hang up here.

FitStrong Supplements came out with PRE, a pre-workout powder that is touted as being able to improve energy and strength without any crash effects.

I looked closer at the ingredient formula to see if this pre-workout powder is not effective formulated and affordable.

What’s Underneath the Cap?

FitStrong Pre’s formula is proprietary; all ingredients are listed in a 5,283 mg blend. It’s impossible to gauge whether each ingredient is dosed effectively.

Here’s a better look at some main ingredients that stood out to me:

Beta Alanine

Supplementing with this ingredient increases workout performance due to its ability to positively affect muscle carnosine levels. [1]

Agmatine Sulfate

Agmatine sulfate has been studied for its ability to positively affect pain, [2] which may be useful to bodybuilders and athletes post-workout.

Caffeine Anhydrous & Caffeine Citrate

This stimulant is used to boost energy and focus. [3] Some people also use this to help speed up their metabolism to enhance fat burning.

Yohimbe Extract

This is a weight-loss compound that has been shown to increase body fat reductions in athletes. [4]

How Should You Use FitStrong PRE?

FitStrong PRE is a pre-workout and should be used anywhere from 15-30 minutes before exercise. Some people may notice FitStrong Pre’s effects sooner than others; consequently, you may find you only need to take it right before you hit the gym.

The company recommends mixing 1 scoop per serving. However, they don’t mention how much liquid you should add. So, you’ll need to experiment with optimal amounts. I got to try FitStrong Pre, and I got the best flavor when I added it to about 6 oz. of water.

The strawberry banana flavor was refreshing and mixed well. I noticed some slight settling at the bottom of my shaker cup, but this seems normal of most pre-workout supplements.

I noticed a little boost of energy when I hit the gym, as well as some improved muscle pumps. It wasn’t anything drastic, but I did notice that my muscles got that swole feeling towards the middle of my workout.

How Much Is FitStrong Pre?

One bottle of FitStrong Pre retails for $60 and contains 30 servings. The price-to-serving ratio is a bit expensive, unfortunately. Each serving is essentially $2.00. While the flavor may be tasty, you can definitely find cheaper supplements out there with a similar ingredient profiles, if not better.

Overall, FitStrong PRE is a good pre-workout supplement. The ingredients are effective; the banana strawberry flavor is a nice changeup to the traditional fruit punch and blue raspberry flavors that a lot of supplement companies are coming out with. However, the price is the big hang up here.
