L-Arginine is an essential amino acid and building block of proteins. It is used in both male and female sexual stimulants as a powerful nutrient to increase blood circulation and increase sexual functioning in both men and women.
In fact, L-Arginine is a precursor of Nitric Oxide, which aids in proper blood circulation and without Nitric Oxide men would not be able to have an erection.
If you are low in Arginine, you may experience the effects through an incomplete, small, infrequent and even lack of hardness in an erection.
This ingredient may also increase libido (sexual desire) and in some cases endurance. Some men have reported increased fertility as well.
Ginseng is the second active ingredient in the formula. This has been used for years as a natural aphrodisiac.
Formula Research
I was able to find some clinical trials performed on L-Arginine.
There was a double-blind, placebo study performed in which research evaluated the levels of Nitric Oxide in men with ED (Erectile Dysfunction.) These men were then given either L-Arginine or a placebo for a period of six weeks after which the following results were seen:
• 9 or 29 men given Arginine reported significant improvement in sexual performance
Additionally, clinical studies were performed on Ginseng to see if the supposed aphrodisiac qualities are actually present. The results were interesting.
In animal trials, ginseng seemed to treat ED, however, there is hardly any evidence that it works in similar ways on humans.
However, there were 7 studies compared in which ginseng was the primary supplement used to treat ED. There was some highly inconclusive evidence that pointed to the idea that Korean Red Ginseng may indeed have some beneficial effects on ED.
Even though these individual ingredient studies are beneficial to review, it would be best to study this product as a whole, however, I was unable to find any clinical trials for Colt Sta-Hard Cream.
